Going Green with Green Teens

Green Teens is an environmental group that was founded by Jessie Mehrhoff, Kelsey Sullivan and Lindsay Haythorn during their freshman year of high school at E. O. Smith (Spring, 2007). The three girls decided that creating a group that focused on simple, everyday lifestyle changes and how they impact the world around us was very important. Youth Venture, an organization that helps fund teen projects around the world, took Green Teens under their wing and gave the club $1000 to help fund some of the groups early projects. With lasting members Kelsey Sullivan, and Jessie Mehrhoff, Green Teens has expanded slowly over the years. Our group consists of about 7 core members and mulitple volunteers. With a new school year beginning, hopefully the group will grow a bit more this year. Green Teens does not focus on high tech environmental projects, but rather works closely with the community. Though Green Teens is just over two years old, the club has accomplished a lot of great projects; check them out on thePast Projects  page.
